This is the official call for the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association of the United States of America 43rd Quadrennial Convention will be held October 5-8, 2023, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Indiana convening at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6th, 2023, in the Marriott White River F-J.

 

STEP ONE: Convention Registration

  • All delegates must register for the convention before making hotel reservations.
    • The link to the registration page can be found on the fcsla.com website on the 2023 Quadrennial Convention page. Click on the big red, rectangular “2023 Quadrennial Convention” button on the home page of the website for the link.

Convention registration & hotel reservations must be made by Friday, August 25th.

 

STEP TWO: Hotel Reservation

  • All delegates must make their own hotel reservations. Information on how to make your hotel reservation can be found at the end of the convention registration process.
  • FCSLA will pay for delegate rooms for the nights of October 5-8, 2023, two delegates per room.
    • The hotel is completely booked so there are no rooms available outside of these dates.
  • If you need to find another delegate roommate so you are not responsible for half of the hotel rate (as a single occupancy room), during the registration process please select “Yes I need assistance finding a roommate for my hotel room”, and you will be contacted by the Home Office.
  • Delegates sharing a room with a non-delegate or wishing a single occupancy room will be billed by the hotel approximately $122 per night, which is half of the per night room rate (including taxes and fee) at this time. Local taxes and fees may be subject to change.
  • Rooms are double occupancy with two double beds. There are a few rooms with a king bed in the FCSLA’s block of rooms that are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • ADA accessible rooms are available through the hotel upon request and on a first come, first served basis.

 

IMPORTANT: As with any hotel reservations, the hotel will require your credit card number at confirmation, but after the convention your credit card will only be charged if you had a single occupancy room (or shared with a non-delegate) or for incidentals such as room service or bar charges. Your credit card should not be charged after your stay if none of these apply.

 

Transportation from Airport to Hotel:  The hotel is 14 miles from Indianapolis International Airport (IND).  The JW Marriott does not provide a shuttle.  There are taxis available at the airport or you can use a ride hailing service such as Uber or Lyft.

 

FCSLA will pay for the following expenses for delegates:

  • Four nights’ accommodation (October 5th through 8th) for the delegate, two delegates per room.  If you wish to stay by yourself or with a non-delegate guest, you must pay half the cost of the room on a credit card.

Guests:  Non-delegate guests must sign up for meals with the Home Office no later than Friday, September 15thby sending an email to convention@fcsla.com or calling 800-464-4642 ext. 1086.

  • There will be a whole convention meal package and a banquet only meal package available for those non-delegates wishing to eat with their delegate or attend the Saturday night banquet.  Please contact the Home Office using the contact info above for more information.
  • A guest who has not purchased a meal package will not be allowed entry to the dining area during mealtimes.

 

Travel Expenses:  All travel expenses for delegates and Court of Appeals members are the responsibility of their branch.  This includes parking at the hotel.

  • Parking rates: With the 15% discount the hotel has provided, the daily rate is approximately $44 for self-parking in the hotel garage.  Valet parking is also available. There are several surface lots and other parking garages in the area as well that are not associated with the hotel.

 

Credential Card:  All delegates will be mailed a credential card before the convention.  Bring this card with you, as it must be presented at the time of convention registration.

 

Registration at the convention:  All delegates and guests must register for the convention between 12:00 Noon and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th (sleeping rooms will not be available until approximately 4:00 p.m.) or between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on Friday, October 6th.  Registration will be in the foyer of the White River Ballroom. 

 

Name Tags: Delegates and registered convention guests will be issued a name tag and will be allowed in all general sessions.  These name tags will also be used as your meal ticket and must be worn for all meals. If your guest has not paid in advance for a guest meal plan or the reception/banquet, they will not be allowed entry to the dining area during mealtimes.

 

General Sessions:  The General Sessions will be held in the White River Ballroom beginning Friday morning, October 6ththrough Sunday morning, October 8th, 2023.

 

Scooters, Wheelchairs, Walking Aids:  A discount on scooter rentals has been arranged with Indy Scooter Rentals: https://indyscooterrental.com/event-rentals/fcsla-2023/ or 317-855-3158. Wheelchairs and other mobility aids are also available.
